About Mrs. Terry Chou
I am so pleased to have you in class this year. Teaching science is a true passion of mine and it has been my profession for more than 15 years now. I received my B.A. in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley, and continued there to receive my M.A. in Science Education. My first teaching assignment was with the Garden Grove Unified School District in Southern California, where I taught high school ELD science and AP Biology. Due to my husband's career path, we relocated to Rochester, Minnesota, and I taught in both the middle and high school levels while we were there. My family then moved to Houston, Texas, and I had the opportunity to work at The Kinkaid School as a middle school science teacher. I taught 6th grade Earth Science and 7th grade Life Science at one of the most highly regarded private schools in the Houston area. I was also asked to become the Kinkaid Middle School Diversity Coordinator. I found this work to be immensely rewarding and allowed me to gain some administrative experience. My family moved back to California in 2008 and I joined the Miller staff. I have taught the entire spectrum of science education here at Miller and am proud to present the first science elective class of its kind...SEARCH class, where science merges with business to teach innovation. To my life science students, I know you will have a very intense, but enriching year that hopefully, rewards you with a solid foundation for studying biology at Lynbrook High School in your freshman year. I know that this is going to be a great year!
